World cancer Day 4 February: Are you ready?

european cervical cancer prevention week
The ECCA is again working with the International Union Against Cancer (UICC), the European CanCer Organisation (ECCO), the Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECCL), the ECCA’s institutional and individual members across Europe to hold the 4th European Cervical Cancer Prevention Week from 24 to 30 January, 2010. Cervical cancer is unique in that we already know exactly what we have to do to prevent almost every case as effective screening and vaccination programmes could virtually eliminate cervical cancer in Europe. However, while we know what to do, the majority of European countries in Europe still have not implemented these programmes.
Urgent need for pain meds for Haiti
Like the rest of the world, UICC is deeply saddened and concerned by the terrible tragedy unfolding in Haiti. We send our heartfelt appreciation to organizations and individuals affiliated with UICC who have generously donated to the relief efforts thus far. We were especially touched to learn of the LIVESTRONG's pledge of $250,000 within hours of the disaster.
